Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes Chelsea has already wrapped up the English Premier League title and can afford to concentrate on the FA Cup.
Mourinho’s United will meet Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-finals in March, having overcome Blackburn Rovers Sunday with a late goal from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“I have so many things to think about,” Mourinho told reporters including The Times. “I have to play Saint-Etienne in the Europa League [on Wednesday], I have to play the [EFL Cup] final [on Sunday], I have to play hopefully another opponent in the Europa League and I have to fight for a top-four position in the Premier League. Chelsea can only think about that because they are champions and they have nothing else to fight for.”
Chelsea defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers Saturday to progress to the meeting with United. Antonio Conte’s team is eight points clear at the top of the Premier League with 13 games of the season remaining.Try Newsweek: Subscription offers
