GB's Stimpson finishes second at World Triathlon Series opener in Abu Dhabi

GB's Stimpson beaten in dramatic sprint finish

Great Britain's Jodie Stimpson took second place in the opening race of the 2017 World Triathlon Series in Abu Dhabi.

It was the 28-year-old's first race back after a six-month lay-off with an Achilles injury sustained after she missed out on Olympic selection.

Stimpson kicked in with 200m to go, but New Zealand's Andrea Hewitt came back to pip her on the line.

Hewitt's winning time was two hours, three minutes and 46 seconds.
