Greeks farmers have clashed with police in Athens during demonstrations against austerity measures.
The protesters, who had travelled from Crete, say high production costs are ruining their livelihoods. Tax breaks on items such as fuel and fertilizer have been removed, while tax and pension contributions have increased.
One farmer said 75% of his income was going to the state.
It's believed violence broke out after reports spread that officials had refused to see a delegation from the group of 1,300 workers.
