Oscars 2017: The Three Best Beauty Queens

The Oscars is Hollywood’s most glamorous event and as always, the looks are flawless and sophisticated. This year did not disappoint and here at Miss Vogue we have chosen our ultimate three favourite looks from the star-studded event.

Emma Stone

Emma Stone took home the award for best actress at this year’s Oscars but Miss Vogue also wants to award her for best red carpet beauty. Rachel Goodwin, her longtime make-up artists, looked back in time at the sophisticated 1930’s for total glam inspiration. For the deep red matte lips Rachel used NARS Cosmetics Audacious Lipstick in Mona which was then paired with subtle smokey eyes for a gorgeous finishing touch. Hairstylist Mara Roszak was then on hand to create the tumbling waves that were beautifully polished and complimented the flapper style-esque Givenchy Haute couture dress she wore. Take note, this is how rock the red carpet!

Dakota Johnson

The queen of natural beauty Dakota Johnson never fails to leave us in awe at any red-carpet event. In a rather cryptic statement she told Ryan Seacrest at the Oscars "I'm not going out wearing any makeup." however even we can’t pretend that the golden shimmer and touch of mascara isn’t there yet regardless of what she said we adore her plump pink lips and simple make-up look the perfect accompaniment to her soft and pale yellow Gucci dress. The hair look was created by Mark Townsend, a simple style that framed the face with the front being pulled back into a gorgeous knot bun, elegant and refined.

Alicia Vikander

One of our major girl crushes, Alicia Vikander can do no wrong. A sheer lip-gloss, feline flick and touches of mascara at the ends of the lashes were all she needed and the gorgeous sun kissed tan looked gorgeous with her flowing Louis Vuitton gown. For the hair, she opted for a high messy knot-bun, the ultimate cool girl statement allowing flyways and wisps to add to her laisses-faire look.
