Oscars 2017: The Best Looks on the Red Carpet

Date February 26, 2017

It’s finally here!

The 2017 Oscars, a.k.a. the most anticipated awards show of the year, have tribes and with it came some killer red carpet looks.

On the hair front, Old Hollywood waves were abundant, with Emma Stone, Karlie Kloss and Emma Roberts rocking the look. Chic chignons were also a popular choice among Jessica Biel and Chrissy Teigen, as were mussed up bobs (real and faux) à la Taraji P. Henson and Kirsten Dunst. And jewelled headbands proved to be a stellar choice, with Ruth Negga and Janelle Monet sporting versions fit for a queen.

As for makeup, we saw plenty of red lips (many paired with those aforementioned glamorous waves) and smoky eyes, along with lots of flawless, dewy complexions.

Check out all of our fave Oscars 2017 beauty looks below!

Hailee Steinfeld’s dark, smoky eye and glossy pink lip combo added edge to her fairy tale-esque gown.

Karlie Kloss went for Old Hollywood glam, with her deep side-parted finger waves and orange-red lip.

Sexy and sultry, Taraji P. Henson’s bronzed smoky eye and nude lip combo matched perfectly with her mussed-up, voluminous bob. But the real winner was the metallic teal eyeliner, which added that extra pop of colour to the entire look.

Proof that red hair + red lips work well together.

Jessica Biel had one of best hair looks of the night, with that stark centre part and architectural chignon. As for her makeup, the peach eyeshadow and lip worked well with her golden gown, as did that killer dramatic cat eye.

A golden goddess.

When it comes to makeup, celebrities often choose to accentuate their lips or their eyes. Kirsten Dunst, however, went for both, and it worked. Her faux bob just added to the allure, and showed off her diamond necklace beautifully.

Janelle Monae looked ethereal with her glowing skin and bronzed makeup. As for her hair, we’re obsessed with the golden crown worn with her cropped locks.

Ruth Negga went monochromatic, pairing red eyeshadow, red lip and red bejewelled headpiece with her red Valentino gown.

Dewy skin, glossy lids made for a pretty and fresh beauty look.

THAT HAIR THOUGH. With her curly locks taking centre stage, Halle Berry (cleverly) opted for minimal no-makeup makeup.

Emma Stone went for a 1920s feel, with her finger waves, dark red lip and bronzed eyes.

Brie Larson looked fresh-faced and beautiful, with just a touch of liner, long lashes, groomed brows and red lips.

Olivia Culpo’s flawless, dewy skin proved to be a nice contrast against her dark eye makeup and matte nude lip. But the best part of her beauty look? That slicked-down, sleek ponytail.
