It’s been a while since we heard from troubled teen star Amanda Bynes. But on Friday, the 31-year-old actress spoke to the media for the first time in four years, telling a reporter what she’s been up to lately and showing that she’s doing better than ever these days.

Amanda also announced her potential return to acting; her last role was in 2010’s Easy A with Emma Stone. “I actually have something surprising to tell you,” she says to reporter Diana Madison. "I'm going to start acting again." She goes on to say she wants to return to television: "maybe a few guest spots on some shows that I’m a fan of and maybe another TV show that I’m the star of it.”

In her mid- to late 20s, the former child star dealt with mental health and addiction issues that led to DUIs, a suspended license, and an arrest for marijuana possession. Following her many legal troubles, she was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold, which led her mother to take control of her financial affairs. She tweeted in October 2014 that she had been diagnosed as bipolar and manic depressive but was seeking help and taking medication.

While this interview doesn’t dive too deeply into Bynes’ troubled past, the reporter does bring up a couple touchy subjects, such as the infamous tweet when she asked Drake to "murder her vagine." “I was serious, but I was also on drugs… and trying to be hilarious,” Bynes says in response.
Here’s hoping Bynes stays on the mend, and that she’s able to return to the small screen soon.
