TV presenter Susanna Reid has revealed that she turned down an offer to appear in the recent Love Actually remake because it involved throwing shade at her Good Morning Britain co-host Piers Morgan.
The Comic relief special which aired on BBC One last Friday featured a scene where the Prime Minister, played by Hugh Grant, took a jab at the controversial TV personality, saying: "Times have got harder and people are nervous and fearful. And it's not just in politics that things are tough, Usain Bolt has run his last Olympics, the Harry Potter films are finished, Piers Morgan is still alive."
According to a new interview with the Daily Mirror, this was enough to put Susanna off any involvement in the sequel to the famous film as she felt it would be disrespecting her working relationship with Piers.
"I enjoy how viewers react to my relationship with Piers on the sofa. It’s evolving – like any good TV "marriage", she said.
The pair are known for their on-screen banter and while Susanna admitted that he "winds [her] up", the 46-year-old also made it clear that she likes him.
"It’s an impossible-to-predict recipe of mutual respect, irritation, frustration & admiration but it works," she continued.
Now that's what we call loyalty!
