ANGELINA JOLIE has spoken publicly, for the first time, about her high-profile split from husband Brad Pitt. Speaking to the BBC in Cambodia, where she is promoting her new film First They Killed My Father, the actress, director and UN goodwill ambassador, struck a reconciliatory note when asked if she wanted to say anything about recent events, although revealed that "it’s been a difficult few months."
"I don’t wanna say very much about that, except to say that it was a very difficult time and we are a family and we will always be a family, and we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it," she said. "Many, many people find themselves in this situation and my family – we’ve all been through a difficult time."
Elaborating on what her focus is right now, Jolie said that her main priority is her children.
"My focus is my children, our children, and my focus is finding this way through," she explained. "And, as I said, we are and forever will be a family. So that is how I’m coping, I’m coping with finding a way through to try and make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer."Angelina’s Hopes For Her Children

When asked where she hopes to be in five years’ time, Jolie joked "Do I have all teenagers?!"
"At that stage I hope just standing!" she said. "In five years’ time I would like to be travelling around the world, visiting my children, hoping that they’re just happy and doing interesting things. And I imagine in every part of the world - I'll be supporting them and I hope that in everything I do, I represent something and represent the right things to my children and give them the right sense of what they’re capable of and the world as it should be seen. Not through the prism of Hollywood or a certain kind of life, but take them into the world where they have a good sense and become rounded people."
