Iain Armitage will play Sheldon Cooper in the highly anticipated The Big Bang Theory prequel. And the 8-year-old prodigy has quite the resumé, starring in Law and Order, and HBO's new series Big Little Lies next to Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman - here's what you need to know about Iain:

He has a Youtube channel with over 5,000 subscribers

Iain's channel, called IainLovesTheatre where he reviews Broadway shows, not only is the most adorable thing you'll see today, it is also the reason he got contacted and signed by New York talent manager Jamie Pillet.

His first review was three years ago, meaning the little theatre critic was 5 years old (in case you feel like you're underachieving today).

He had his big break with Big Little Lies

Iain stars alongside Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley, in HBO's newest drama Big Little Lies. He plays the first-grader Ziggy who lives in a small town with his single mum, played by Shailene.

He will soon take on Sheldon Cooper

What a big year for Iain! After his break in Big Little Lies, the kid was cast to take on Jim Parsons' Sheldon Cooper. In The Big Bang Theory prequel Iain plays the 9-year-old prodigy growing up in Texas next to his twin sister and religious mother.

He was in Law and Order SVU

*Dun dun* Iain stars in Law and Order SVU season 18. In an episode aired in January, Iain played a little boy named Theo who goes missing. After the detectives find out that Theo has a dysfunctional family, everyone becomes a suspect.

He will star next to Brie Larson in a movie

Last but definitely not least, Iain's next step to stardom will be starring next to Brie Larson in The Glass Castle, a film adaptation of the American journalist Jeannette Walls' memoir.
