FASHION WEEK provided the headlines this week, and it wasn't just from the collections on the catwalk.
Model sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid were rarely off the runway, dominating the final leg of the New York shows and delighting fans with their chameleonic looks; Melania Trump became a talking point as derogatory comments made about her by a New York Times reporter were made public by Emily Ratajkowski; and the #TiedTogether movement picked up pace, with multiple attendees wearing a white bandana in a show of solidarity and unity in the face of global political upheaval.
Following Marc Jacobs's finale (which this season was staged on a sidewalk in the Big Apple), the action arrived on home turf, with Vogue contributing editor Bay Garnett insuring proceedings started on a charitable note with her knock-out Oxfam fashion show on Thursday night. The official start on Friday morning saw BFC chairman Natalie Massenet and BFC CEO Caroline Rush welcome the troops to the capital, also showing their support for the #TiedTogether movement.
It was also a week that saw the fashion community unite to celebrate the life of the late designer Richard Nicoll, who sadly passed away in October last year. In addition to Pantone revealing that it has introduced the colour Nicoll Blue into its palette (to honour Nicoll's trademark use of the colour) and Central Saint Martins holding a minute's silence at its Friday-night show, a special film was commissioned by Vogue creative director Jaime Perlman. Made by long-time Vogue contributor Tim Walker, the short is a moving tribute to a man loved by so many he left behind.EXCLUSIVE: Richard Nicoll Blue, A Tribute

Elsewhere in celebrity news this week, Scarlett Johnasson expressed her thoughts on marriage and monogamy; Blake Lively revealed how she has learned to love her body; George Clooney's mother, Nina, revealed that the actor and his wife, Amal, are expecting a girl and a boy when they welcome their twins later this year; and the Beckham family shared an album of photographs from their family skiing holiday in Canada, following recent headlines surrounding David's email hack. As Beckham himself put it: "Don't usually post so many but it's so beautiful up here plus having a special time so before anyone else sells pictures of the family I wanted you guys to see them first."
