The truth about laser Hair removal is that it doesn’t hurt that bad, and it works. But the process is time-consuming and expensive.
A session with a licensed practitioner costs $306, on average, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgery. Since you may need to go up to 10 times to completely remove body hair and up to eight times to eliminate facial hair, the total cost for laser hair removal can hover around $5,000. There are DIY options like the popular Tria at-home laser hair removal tool, but that will set you back about $400.

The Venus Silk machine is easy to use. It senses your skin tone and hair color to set the light intensity automatically and uses 3-second intervals between pulses. It then permanently removes unwanted hair by burning it with flashes of light. (Don't worry, it won't burn your skin.) There's a “gentle mode” for beginners and three different energy levels on “normal mode.” For reference, it takes about 10 minutes to remove lower leg hair.
Like all such treatments, it doesn't happen overnight; plan on multiple sessions over the course of about three months.
